crazy year, isnt it?
read the newspapers! and please pray for the group of singaporean dragon boaters that got lost in cambodia! mr stephen loh our new pe teacher in nj is also one of them! must have been some wave if it could topple a dragon boat): maybe theyre drifting somewhere in the pacific ocean with no food or water): quickquick find them!what a crazy year. grandma, uncle gordon gone so quick, and 3 more lovely people getting horrible chronic illnesses. praise God for tua ee, she never lets anything get her down. this aunt is a tough one(: cance and chemotherapy is awful but she's handling everything so well, and always visiting and buying food for lots of people. superwoman. she is OWNing cancer, in the emotional sense, lets pray she'll own it in the physical sense too.
then the a levels. it was good in the end, but the period leading up to it was scary. so we've graduated. and now i'm forced to grow up. nj was good, i love the people, and the teachers are sweet. i'm glad i went to nj, it has such a warm accepting culture, everyone's so nice and i've had a wonderul journey with wonderful friends in just 2 years. though the academic part was tough, everyone made it a lot better. that is why we need to count our blessings, not our sorrows. be grateful for what you have, other people might seem to be having it better, but its all relative.
why do bad things happen to good people? like ending one's life prematurely? some atheists are atheists as they say there is injustice and too much suffering in the world. they ask, how can a loving God allow so much unjustifiable suffering? lots of people would have felt like that, with our imperfect human world as it is. the thing is, suffering is not imposed on us by God, but suffering is the result of us humans. it is the result of our having free will. and because humans are inherently selfish creatures, having free will and the power to carry it out would inevitably cause suffering to others. i dont need to give examples of this occuring, its just rampant, isnt it? we live in this imperfect world precisely because of the first wrong choice adam made in the garden of eden, the result of freewill mixed with Man's selfishness. we have no control over nature anymore, compared to the beginning, because of this, i mean, look at all those natural disasters. and there are diseases. by this choice, the whole human race was cursed to suffer and die, but God being such a loving God gave an avenue out with the system of sacrifices and later, Jesus. so even if we've got suffering now, we'll have it good coz we've got a life after death. it could have been much worse off.
its a good thing we still have our free will, huh? He didnt decide to take everything back after we screwed up.
because there is so much suffering, we need God. pray for strength for the people suffering now, support and love is always appreciated, and divine intervention always makes things a lot better. i still have lots more to say, but i'm tired.
aye i've been rambling lots, havent i?
