my chinese sucks
its pathetic i tell you. i told the hawker auntie my order and she went 'you cannot speak chinese?' arhhhhhh!!!!! i WAS speaking in chinese! then i said that i COULD speak chinese but it wasnt very good in CHINESE, and she was like, ah ok. then we all spoke in chinese!the conversation from the beginning:
me: auntie wo yao (i want) fish soup he fan (with rice)
she: ni yao zha de ma? (u want the fried one?) (coz the fish is fried before they put in in soup)
me: zha de? (fried one?)
i ask josh whether he wants the fried on coz its his order actually
me to the auntie: ya, zha de.
she: ni bu hui jiang hua yu ah? (u cant speak chinese?)
me: WO HUI! (I CAN!) wo zi shi jiang de bu hao (i just cant speak it very well)
she: ni xue xiao you xue hua yu ma? (do you learn chinese in sch?)
me: you (yes)
she: orhh. hua yu hai hao ba? (its pretty good??? haha dunno)
me: hua yu hen nan (chinese is very difficult)
then i wanted to communicate the horrors of chinese to her but i didnt know how to put it in chinese so oh well.
my mum's one of those in charge of counting votes and all. she's in ALJUNIED. oh noooo theyre gonna make her recount and recount and she wont be home till like 4am tmrw. and she probably wont be able to go to church tmrw. theyre depriving her of spiritual nourishment! they should have made friday the polling day! heheh public hol! but then again, friday's my chem prac day. i like chem prac. pretty pretty colours. fun fun fun. i shall be preparing some dessert thingys for her when she gets home. i have got me a slice of avocado heheheh. that is if everything goes well and there is NO RECOUNT and she is able to come back by 1am. miracles can be done with blenders! hohohoho

Happened to come across your blog by chance. Firstly, i think you should feel proud that your mum is involved in the vote counting. At least she is contributing to the future of our country.
Secondly, election is not just a day where you'll get a holiday. it is a day where the people of our country decide on our future. You may not think much of it but when you start to work, i hope you'll take it more seriously. Thank you
i'm not happy with the vote counting process coz they arent taking care of my mum. she didnt have dinner or lunch. she has gastric and heart problems. they should take care of their workers. and sundays are supposed to be dedicated to worship and rest.
some politicians are very petty and demanding. and some polling/counting agents they send are disorganised and irresponsible.
sorry if i'm not taking it seriously but even some candidates arent taking it seriously. its almost a joke.
this is both josh and jo. jo has censored many of josh's comments
jo here. anyway the pap has done a great job and is still doing a great job. even though some of them may come across as arrogant people. some opposition mps are good at fighting for our rights and all and some are nice people like chiam see tong (keep it up!) but would you be willing to let them take charge of your education system and stuff? the pap has experience and theyre much more organised than the opposition. (good job y'all!)
i dont view it as just a holiday. its just a day for people to go vote and is thus a public hol.
i was pretty happy at first when i found out that my mum was helping. but i really think that they should treat their helpers better. she isnt that healthy you know.
